Louis Armstrong And Friends
The most popular of all jazz artists, trumpeter and singer Louis Armstrong, sure ought to have a lot of friends. Anyway it is a surprise that so many excellent musicians known from other stylistic contexts want to share the stage and screen and music with the jazz legend. In this selection of television appearances Louis Armstrong has friendly musically conversations with jazz giants like pianist Duke Ellington and tenor saxophonist Coleman Hawkins and with modernists like trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie and baritone saxophonist Gerry Mulligan - and with his old friend and partner, trombonist Jack Teagarden.
