Live in Bologna 1985/ Two A Day

| This twofer brings together a pair of late-period Chet Baker recordings: TWO A DAY from 1978, and LIVE IN BOLOGNA 1985. Although much of Baker's output in the 1970s and '80s was wildly uneven, he often played with a startling clarity and a depth of feeling that spoke to his long life of hardship and addiction. Those moments can be found on both of these sets, particularly on LIVE IN BOLOGNA 1985, which finds Baker's trumpet playing, couched lightly by piano and drums, particularly lyrical and poignant. |
ARTISTS Chet Baker (vocals, trumpet); Philip Catherine (guitar); Phil Markowitz (piano); Jean-Louis Rassinfosse (bass guitar); Jeff Brillinger (drum) |
